Story

Jaz and Matthew go to sea for the 2019 Tall Ships Races on the "Atyla"

https://atyla.org/

Hello, Jaz here,

I have been offered an amazing opportunity to sail on the tall ship, Atyla.  I have been brought up with stories from my mother about her sailing experience on the STA schooner, Sir Winston Churchill in the ‘80s and would love to have the chance to make memories, and lifelong friends as she did.  I am looking forward to challenging myself, working as a team with people from different countries and backgrounds and learning new skills.  This race will begin the day after my GCSE’s finish – so will be a fantastic start to the next stage in my life!

I am working with Matthew to raise money to fund this experience and would be very grateful if you were able to help with this by donating to our Just Giving page.  Thank you!

From Matthew:
Hello! I'm really looking forward to going on the Atyla this summer; my
parents were very fortunate to sail on the STS Malcolm Miller, so this
opportunity means a great deal to me. I have done very few things which
have really challenged me and this will be a huge step out of my comfort
zone, in particular in challenging my fear of heights and give me more
confidence.
