Story
At St Albans High School for Girls Prep, we are running a Practice-A-Thon from 14 February to 13 March, during which time, friends and family will sponsor our students to commit to a certain amount of musical practice per week. All money raised during the Practice-A-Thon will go to 'Play for Progress' (www.playforprogress.org), a charity offering music workshops to young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.
Play for Progress aims to transform the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers through creative, trauma-informed support. Young people seeking refuge and asylum in the UK are some of the most vulnerable in our society, but with your help we can give them the support, community and confidence they need to flourish. Through group music and art classes and bespoke 1-1 support in Education, Therapy, Case Work and more, Play for Progress brings about lasting positive change for these young people.
