Canterbury Diocese stretches from Maidstone to Thanet, the Isle of Sheppey to the Romney Marsh and includes 334 churches, 103 schools and a University with a Church of England foundation. Whilst the Archbishop of Canterbury is the bishop, oversight of the diocese is delegated to the Bishop of Dover.

Story

Raise the Roof is a vital campaign to raise funds to replace the rapidly ageing roof on St Alphege Church. The original Victorian roof, built in 1844, is made of expensive Welsh slates that mush be frequently replaced. The roof has no lining and urgently needs a new one to protect the church's historic ceiling. We need to raise £200,000 to replace the roof and preserve this beautiful old victorian lady for future generations.
