Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Wootton Rivers is a pretty village in Wiltshire, with a population of around 200. A church has existed on the present site for over 900 years although the current St Andrew's church was built in the 14th Century and then extensively restored in 1861. In 1911 its famous "Scrap-heap Clock" celebrating the coronation of King George V was added, having been manufactured by local resident Jack Spratt.
Maintenance of historic churches such as ours is very important and in recent years the Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust has made generous donations to our refurbishment projects here at St Andrew's such as the roof repairs, rehanging and tuning of the bells and the clock refurbishment supplementing the very generous contributions from our parishioners and other supporters.
Our organised Walk and Ride for 2023 will be over several routes, designed to suit the capabilities all ages and fitness levels. If you would prefer to walk or ride your own route around our local churches you will be very welcome.
