St Andrew's #makeadifference for the Poppy Appeal · 19 October 2020

The RBL are the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the British Armed Forces and their dependents.

Story

At St Andrew's we usually #makeadifference for the Poppy Appeal by selling poppies at school. Year 6 bring round a big box and children get to put their money in the box to get all sorts of poppy related items.

This Remembrance Day, the Royal British Legion can't sell poppies the way they usually would because of Covid-19. That means they're going to have a lot less money to support serving and ex-serving Armed Forces personnel and their families. The support they give is even more vital than usual this year, with many elderly veterans experiencing hardship, loneliness and isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

We know that we can come together to #makeadifference by contributing money to this online fundraiser instead of popping coins in the charity pot this year. Any money you donate goes directly to the charity and you can donate quickly and easily without needing to make an account. You can use PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other platforms, as well as donating by card.
