STAR is the national network of students working to improve the lives of refugees in the UK. 

In 2011/12, our amazing network

- provided direct assistance to 1952 refugees at 44 refugee projects from homework clubs to English classes and nightshelters

- delivered 99 campaign actions across the UK to end destitution, detention and fight for equal access to HE

- ran 280 events on 45 campuses attended by over 15,000 students to counter negative public opinion and change minds about refugees
