The Star Appeal · 19 November 2012

Woodgreen is a charity that's here for pets and their people. We want all pets to live the best possible life, and we do everything we can to make that a reality – every step of the way. From shelter and care to practical support, we help pets live happy, fulfilling lives with their humans.

Story

This year's appeal is raising money to improve the heating system for the animals in our Heydon Shelter.  Star, after whom the Appeal is named, was an elderly, partially sighted cat who, because of her age and general condition, needed supplementary heating during her stay at Heydon.  We want to make sure that all the animals are toasty warm and as comfortable as possible while they are with us.  Our target is £15,000.  We hope to raise this by:

Bag packing and supermarket collections;

A Valentine's Winter Warming Walk in February 2013 (pay on the day);

Our second GRAND AUCTION at Pembroke College, Cambridge on Saturday, 30 March, 2013;

A chilling 127metre abseil at the National Abseil Centre in Northampton on Saturday, 11 May, 2013.

A spectacular and as yet unconfirmed sponsored trek/bike ride/team event.

Please help us by donating towards the appeal.  Every penny counts - and lessens the chance that we will have to do the abseil. ;-).  If you sponsor us enough, however, we’ll have to do it!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so very much for your generosity!  Sue
