Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 1985 I was born with part of my lower bowel missing.
I had to be operated on straight away.
They gave me a colostomy bag, one that could be reversed down the line. This was a relatively new procedure on a new born at the time. If I had been born 6 months sooner I would still have it.
Unfortunately my bowel was week and I perforated it several times over the next few months. One of the times they actually thought I may not make it. Well I pulled through and came home six weeks later with the colostomy bag and several entries to my stomach. Each one was where I perforated my bowel. They couldn't risk reversing it until I was older and stronger. Around 9 months old the reversal went well without any problems. In the same operation they also chopped off my third thumb which I was born with.

Thanks to Professor Walker (my surgeon) and all the help at Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool, England.
That little baby you saved is still alive and living his life to the fullest. Thank You x

I would like to take this chance to give back and show appreciation to the men and woman and everyone involved with that hospital that go out of there way everyday to ensure those kids are smiling and their lives are just that little bit better.

In support of this I'm not drinking alcohol for 1 year.
I stopped drinking alcohol on 27th December 2016 and I pledge to Alder Hey Childrens Hospital and all donators that I will not drink alcohol until 29th December 2017.

HOW YOUR MONEY HELPS

£5 Will buy five packs of crayons (22,000 crayons a year are given to children to entertain them whilst in A&E).

£10 Will buy ten books for our children whilst at Alder Hey.

£500 Will buy arts & crafts materials to be used as distraction therapy whilst treating our young cancer patients with chemotherapy.

£1k Will buy one Apnoea Monitor which is a specially designed mattress to detect when a baby has stopped breathing.

£2k Will buy one wheelchair which can be used in transportation. This allows children to be released earlier from hospital and helps with the transition back to normal life because they have the ability to attend school.

Im trying to raise enough money for 1 Apnoea Monitor and 1 wheel chair.
