Story
I have always heard of people talking about how they lost a friend or family to suicide. To me it was heartbreaking to hear but never changed my life. On August 23rd 2017, I found my best friend took his life. He lived not even 100 yards away from my apartment. At that moment I thought someone was playing a cruel joke on me. Once reality set in, I had lost all hope. His name was Zachary Gladstone. He was a United States Marine. We met in my apartment complex and he came up to me because he saw a sticker I had on my truck. Asked me if I served and after 10 minutes of talking about our service we realized we were both Marines, went to Afghanistan at the same time, and stationed in the same state. He was originally from Rock Hill South Carolina. Some how God had us meet each other in North Wales Pennsylvania. We instantly became best friends. The day I lost him is easily one of the top 3 most painful days of my life. Ever since that day, I have had terrible thoughts but I found ways to keep myself going. I went to my friends and family and my loving fiance to help me get through everything. I know that not everyone can go to their family or friends. This however, is not about me. This is about zach, and the millions of people who either attempt or contemplate suicide. I am fundraising to help get the word out, that you are not alone. We are all here to help you, we love you, and you are special.
