Louisa and I have signed up for this never-done-before 120ft North Stand abseil at OLD TRAFFORD home of the current League Cup Winners and one of the most famous Football Clubs in the world. - MANCHESTER UNITED. Yes - we are MAD!!!!!

My daughter Ruby  aged 18 mths, has Cystic Fibrosis and was born with a blocked bowel. She has endured 3 life saving operations.

CF is an inherited disease which affects vital organs in the body especially  the Lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick, sticky mucus. Its affects 7,500 babies, children and young adults.

There is no known cure for CF at present but doctors and scientists throughout the world are confident that a cure will be found and are working as quickly as they can. The faulty gene which causes CF has been identified and doctors and scientists have made great strides in learning how to replace the defective gene with a healthy one.

However, 3 young lives are lost each week to CF and the average life expectancy is only 31 years.
