Story
Thankyou for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 24th September 2023 I will be running my very first Half Marathon to raise valuable funds for The Little Ted Foundation.
My friend Jess and her husband Lee have selflessly set up the charity following the tragic loss of their baby boy Ted. They are doing amazing work to support children and their families.
Ted was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer when he was 8 months old. He went through several cycles of chemotherapy and a huge 11 hour surgery to remove the tumour, but the cancer was simply too aggressive. Despite everything Ted had been through, he passed away on April 9th, 2022 aged just 16 months old.
To honour their incredible little boy's memory, Ted's family decided to start a charity based around all of their happiest memories with Ted, and created The Little Ted Foundation. Ted's legacy supports families across the UK with seriously ill children, and bereaved families who have lost a child by offering Grants & Getaways when families need them most.
Running a Half Marathon is a huge challenge for me, I've never entered any running specific events before and only ran a maximum of 5k before starting my training earlier this year. It's going to be as much of a mental challenge as a physical one. Training in the summer heat is tough going. Those who know me know I would much prefer to do this on two wheels! However, with a big desire to raise as much money for The Little Ted Foundation I wanted to set myself a major goal, and signed up knowing it would be a great challenge and would push me to my limits alongside my family and work commitments.
I appreciate financially it is a tough time for people at the moment, I'd be so grateful for any donation you can afford to support this amazing charity.
