In the developed Western world we see education as a matter of course, it is part of growing up to become a self-sufficient adult and to eventually follow our dreams. 

Everyone dreams, but for some it's nothing but empty hopes.

I believe education is that crucial element to a better life, it's "the passport to our future". This is why I support Warchild (www.warchild.org.uk), a UK charity aiming to protect children in war-torn countries and to enable children to access to life-saving education and training. 

Unicef estimates 240 mio. children worldwide are affected by conflicts. Children that may never dream again. I am going to run a half marathon and want to raise a sum of £ 240 to raise awareness and increase understanding of affected children.

We may not be able to stop a war, but we can take a moment to send out hope for the less fortunate.
