OAT is one of the largest not-for-profit multi-academy trusts in England. We educate over 30,000 pupils and have been sponsoring academies since 2009. Our mission is to become the Trust that makes the biggest difference, both inside and outside the classroom.

Story

The UK continues to face a STEM skills shortage, with governments, educators and employers eager to find creative ways to inspire young people to consider a STEM career, while offering a broad and balanced curriculum.

Laser 2000 are proud to support Ormiston Academies Trust STEMFEST, but a group of us wanted to do something extra and help a different group of pupils.

We're running the Cambridge Half Marathon and seek to raise at least £500 to put in place a book bursary to be administered by OAT. We know first hand the high cost of academic text books at University and for a first time student from any background it can be a large expense, for a STEM student coming from a challenging community it can be even more so.

Our aim is that the money raised will act as a book bursary to support one graduating student from OAT that has a place at university on a STEM subject to put towards the cost of their text books in the first year.

We aim for at least £500 so that this scheme can be funded to support one student per year for at least the next three years.

Can you help us by sponsoring the Laser 2000 team?
