Story

Cancer now affects 1 in 2 people. Unfortunately this is all too true across my family. Which is why I am embarking on this idiotic challenge of cycling to Germany to raise money to build the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke.

The Ark cancer treatment centre is incredibly important. It will provide all treatment and supportive care under one roof to help improve the cancer treatment journey of patients and their families.

I joined the Arkriders back in 2017. We cycled from the Ark (Basingstoke) to the Arc De Triomphe - at the time I'd never ridden a substantial distance and that was hard enough.

450 miles in 5 days through 5 countries is a new challenge entirely!

Basingstoke is twinned with three European towns; Alençon, Braine-l'Alleud and Euskirchen. We ticked off Alençon on the way to Paris. This tour is to tick off the last two towns. We ride from Basingstoke to Cologne.

It is going to be hard work! Looking at the route, it gets hillier and hillier as the 5 days go on. Please give generously; mainly for the cause and a little bit for the pain that my body/bum is going to go through!
