Story
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I should probably confess right up front that I'm not a runner - I'm built far more for comfort than speed! But I've signed up to run the Disney Princess Enchanted 10k this February for two reasons:
Firstly, in memory of my sister, Vicky Broadribb MBE, who died just over 15 years ago. When she was a child Whizz-Kids helped get her first customised wheelchair and as a result opened up a whole new level of independence and mobility. That's me (with brown hair!) in the picture with my sister, Vicky, and my brother, Will (who is a proper runner!).
And secondly, I'm running in memory of my Dad, Jim Broadribb, who died in 2018. Dad loved Florida, Disney and sports. I'll be running the 10k around one of his favourite places - Walt Disney World.
Whizz-Kids is an amazing charity. They provide young people with disabilities with specialist mobility equipment, the chance to meet and have fun, and to learn new skills and grow in confidence. I saw my sister benefit from their support first-hand, and believe, just as they do, that every child should have the chance to develop to their full potential.
They've helped over 18,000 children already, but the need for what they do is so great that they always have a waiting list. By helping me raise money for this amazing charity you'll be giving more children with disabilities the chance to live life to its full potential sooner.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you.
