In a moment of optimism and enthusiasm I decided I needed a challenge and signed up for the Land's End to John O'Groats 'ride across britain'..... covering 969 miles in 9 days! Lots of kind people have offered to sponsor me in my madness and so I thought I would take the opportunity to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Unit at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre where I work. The money will go towards Breast Cancer specific research, including drug trials aimed at improving outcomes and survival in breast cancer generally but also enabling local patients to have access to the latest treatments.
