Thank you for taking a moment to visit my Just Giving page. On October 14th 2018 I will be running the Manchester half marathon. I hadn't run more than a couple of miles in any one go since I was in high school...that was until April 2018 when I decided to take on this challenge along with two friends to raise money for charities close to our 💓's.... 

You may or may not be aware that my family is affected by a serious hereditary heart condition - Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC). Heart conditions such as this often exist without any symptoms, until a significant heart event occurs which, very sadly, frequently has tragic consequences. Fortunately, due to the fantastic and expert care from medical staff and hospitals both overseas and at home, our story had a positive outcome.

The Vital Signs Foundation (VSF) is a small charity, working tirelessly to raise awareness of undiagnosed heart conditions and provide FREE and effective heart screenings for young people aged between 16 to 35. In the UK It is estimated that on average 12 fit and healthy young people die each week from an undiagnosed heart condition. The screenings that VSF offer, help to influence these statistics and save lives. So far, 2,082 young people have benefitted from VSF's FREE heart screening events...4% of those screened have since been diagnosed with potentially life threatening heart conditions, of which they were previously unaware.

It costs Vital Signs £3000 for each heart screening event that they organise.
