The St. Georges School Ethopia, Alpine Challenge · 6 October 2022

24 intrepid explorers are embarking on the St. George's School, Ethiopia Alpine Challenge, 3 days hiking on remote mountain trails in the Val de Montjoie region of the French Alps, hiking to altitudes almost double the height of Ben Nevis.

Story

Hi,

This is a bit of a last minute decision, but I've decided to take part in a mountain trek in aid of St George's School, Ethiopia. This amazing school educates 500 extremely deprived children from the ages of 5-18. Currently Ethiopia is a ravaged, war-torn country currently living under the imminent threat of famine. NAEF the charity which funds the school is in desperate need of funding to continue the free education of these children to give them a real chance in life.

I am one of 20 or so intrepid explorers who will be setting out for 3 days hiking on remote mountain trails in the Val de Montjoie region of the French Alps. We will be hiking to altitudes of almost double the height of Ben Nevis and sleeping in remote mountain refuges. I am funding the trek myself but by sponsoring me you will be helping to raise much needed funds for the children of St. George's School, Ethiopia.

I hope I can rise to the challenge of 3 days of 26km daily hikes and the mountain refuges! I appreciate its not an ideal time to be asking for donations, but this is a very worthy cause, and anything you can donate would be hugely appreciated, and a great help.

We leave for the Val de Montjoie on 2nd October... less than 2 weeks, so I'd better get training.

Thank you so much,

Steph xxx
