Breast Walk Ever 2016 · 4 September 2016 ·

Against Breast Cancer are working to prevent secondary breast cancer by funding unique research into the development of new treatments, including ultimately a vaccine; improving upon current blood tests; and assessing diet and lifestyle for factors that increase the risk of secondary breast cancer.

Story

Jen and I aren’t athletes and don’t enter sport competitions but let us just set the scene. We both work at The Boathouse Dental Surgery, our Boss Atul is a runner, his nurse Heidi runs marathons with ease, John also runs and lastly Megan plays netball. Jen did a charity walk last year but wanted to up the anti for 2016. So we had to do something… walking was the decision. Let's face it we can both walk and what excuse could we come up with not to?

So the result is a walk with a purpose. The Breast Walk Ever 2016 half marathon.

A few facts

•    Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer
•    1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime
•     That's 53,000 women each year
•    and 150 each day.

We need your help and all we ask is for you to sponsor us as it is such a worthy cause. Knowing you've sponsored us will take our mind off blisters and sore feet on the day!

Thank you for reading our page and hopefully making a small contribution to our target.
