The Gurkhas were recruited into and been part of the British Army for the last 200 years.
Roughly 19,000 Gurkha soldiers have died during the many wars they've fought at Britain's side, and more still have returned to a life of hardship in Nepal.
The Gurkha Welfare Trust ensures that Gurkha veterans, their widows and their wider communities are able to live with dignity.
They achieve this primarily through the provision of financial, medical and community aid in Nepal and offer advice and support to help the thousands of retired Gurkhas and their families who choose to settle here.
