Rotorua Marathon 2021 · 8 May 2021
At Active+ Albany we work with PINC & STEEL cancer rehab clients, helping people affected by cancer through physical rehabilitation. The PINC & STEEL program is dedicated to improving the strength, quality of life and sense of wellbeing of men and women diagnosed with cancer. All money fundraised will be going to the Active+ Albany community funds.
Anthony's father Jim was a head and neck cancer surgeon. Now, under the guidance of our physio Claire Boyce, we see too many clients with this kind of cancer. Anthony is running the full marathon and hoping to beat his personal best time.
Anthony's daughter Emma barely remembers her Grandmother Audrey who died of cancer. She never received any kind of physio rehab or lymphoedema treatment. Under PINC & STEEL her quality of life would have been much improved. Emma will be running her first full marathon in remembrance of her Grandma.
John will be running the half marathon with his father in-law and will be representing his aunty and uncle who have died of cancer and family members who are cancer survivors.
Courtney is a work friend of Emma's. Courtney will be running her first full marathon as well and wants to help raise awareness about this great cause that can help change many lives
