Help & Hope!
I shall be walking 26 miles on 6th July to raise funds for Alzheimers Society.
This is a challenge that benefits me, you, and the Alzheimer’s Society charity
Let’s start with the most important part - the charity - where the money raised is going. Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
YOU!, how does this help you. Unfortunately, currently very few people will be untouched by dementia, directly or indirectly. Having recently had both my parents confirmed as having Alzheimers I know that it is so easy to believe we are one of the few. To have a life change so quickly and witness the fear and confusion of a loved one is something I would like to help you avoid, with the help of the money raised by Trek26 for the Alzheimers Society.
And finally me! Well to be very frank I am over weight and unfit in a big way. The next 6 months of training will get me into much needed shape and that will have many benefits to my physical and mental health. The research shows that fitness (mental and physical) will help to keep dementia at bay for myself, so I will also be adding GeoCaching to my training (treasure hunting for walkers)
So if you are able to give money to my campaign, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
Let’s do this! I’ll get my boots on and your encouragement will lift my feet and my spirits.
Much love!
Steph
PS I will be updating you on my progress each month.
