Story

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In memory of our Hillzie, myself and my brother Tom have decided to do a MoonLight Walk along the coast.

We are going to do this on Sunday 22nd May 2022. Our walk will start at Bognor Regis Beach - the pier, at 7pm, where we will walk along the coast for 26.2 miles finishing at Brighton Pier.

(we had planned 21 miles but knew Martin would be telling us to go the whole hog to make it a marathon!)

Walking through the night will be a challenge in itself but we will also be walking in to Martins 33rd Birthday on the Monday 23rd May.

The moon has become quite an important part of all our lives since loosing Martin so we are really hoping he will be shining down on us as we walk.

I’m sure a few pub stops will be made along the way!!

The main reason for doing this to raise awareness of ‘Sudden Cardiac Arrest’ and most importantly raise money for a life saving piece of equipment - a Defibrillator.

After loosing Martin so suddenly at home on the evening of Saturday November 20th 2021 and going through the traumatic events that unravelled that night - I want to help stop another family having to go through what we all did.

We live on a big new build development in Billingshurst and at present there are no defibrillators at this end of the village. The aim is to have at least one installed on the development, and in memory of Martin. If this piece of equipment helps to save just one persons life and prevents their family going through what we continue to go through then I feel it is more than worth it.

So in true Hillzie fashion and in one of his favourite catch phrases….”oh go on then” - dig deep!

Thank you so much

Steph & Tom
