I'm passionate about supporting children's mental health, which is why I've decided to cut my hair in aid of Place2Be - one of the UK's leading school-based children's mental health charities. The money raised will help to ensure that no child has to face mental health problems alone. I'm aiming to raise £100, which could help Place2Be to reach 14 children during lockdown so they can talk about their fears and worries (or, £100 could pay for two children to each have a 50 minute one-to-one session with a qualified counsellor). 

Why this is important:

• 1 in 6 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health problem.

• 50% of those with lifetime mental health problems first experience symptoms by the age of 14.

• 75% of young people with mental health problems aren’t being treated.

Once my hair has been cut, my hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust who provide wigs to children who have lost their own hair though cancer treatment or other conditions.
