Uganda Marathon · 1 June 2019

African Village Support is a small charity which is making a big difference to the lives of villagers in rural eastern Uganda; working together with students and schools, women's groups and the youth we develop sustainable projects with the aim of achieving self sufficiency.

Story

On June 1st, I will be running my 1st marathon of 26.2 mi/42 km in the countryside of Uganda on the Equator. I'm raising money for African Village Support (AVS) because I believe in what they stand for.

They empower, support & educate women by teaching them skills to help find employment. They believe in continuing education for young children to higher levels. They help those in need and support local leaders making amazing changes in their community.

This will be my very 1st marathon & challenging for me. However, the charity I'm running for will be my reward along with the local children cheering me on!

I'm asking for any amount you can spare to donate. Big or small every bit will help & is greatly appreciated! After the marathon I will be visiting the charity for a week. I will post pics to show everyone what their generous donations are going towards in helping out a community.
