Story

Epilepsy Action is the UK’s biggest community of people who want a better future for people affected by epilepsy. The charity offers free vital services such as their Freephone helpline, website, local Talk and Support groups around the UK, e-learning courses, and their Befriending service. The charity’s freephone helpline is a vital service, with trained advisors who provide much-needed advice and support.I'm fundraising to help make a difference so that Epilepsy Action can continue to provide these services when people need it most.

Epilepsy Action is a charity close to our hearts that we have personally benefitted from so it would be great to raise some money for them. I recently got a free children’s book from them entitled ‘my Daddy has epilepsy’ which explains the condition brilliantly to children without it being too scary. Even if I raise a little bit of money, they can continue to print and supply these books on top of all the research they do and support they provide.

I only started running late last year and although I can do a 5k parkrun, 10k is daunting to me so this will challenge me. It is a virtual challenge but proof needs to be submitted via Strava so I can’t back out! It’s also keeping me fit and healthy along the way, bonus :)
