Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
St Luke's are holding their annual Strictly St Luke's competition on 14 March 2020 at Grays Civic Hall. My colleague, Lorraine Clarkson, has invited me to learn some dazzling ballroom and latin moves with her to compete to raise money for St Luke's Hospice.
We have a lot of work to do as Lorraine's originally allocated partner was unable to continue his commitment this year. Lorraine asked if I would be her partner on 14 January 2020. The other 9 couples have been practicing since late November!
I have always enjoyed a disco but have never danced properly so it is a steep learning curve. We aim to practice at Strictly Smartz Leigh on Sea every Sunday with our instructor Nikita.
St Luke's Hospice is 30 years old this year. They aim to provide the highest standards of care for people who have specialist palliative care needs and live in the Basildon & Thurrock districts.
The Hospice is hoping to raise in excess of £30,000.00 to continue to provide the excellent care and services for the local community.
The competition is scored in three sections:
1. Money raised before 11 March 2020
For funds raised in excess of £500.00, 5 points will be awarded, with an extra point awarded per £100.00 raised in excess of this.
2. Audience Votes on the Night
3. Judges votes!
Tickets to the grand finale can be bought by contacting Lorraine or me. It will be a fabulous night on 14th March and we hope you will come to support us, applaud loudly and vote for us on the night.
We have been allocated a small amount of tickets to the show as a cost of £18.00 each. Please let either Lorraine or me know if you would like to join us on the night. The deadline for letting us know if Friday 31 January 2020. I know a few of you already booked your tickets with Lorraine, so a big thank you to you!
