Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running to support St Raphael's Hospice because they helped my wife, Deborah through to the end of cancer in comfort and with dignity.

I do agree that cancer research is important and that may have helped prolong or save her life. But cancer charities get far more support than Hospices.

We don't like to think about it, but we will all die.  Our parents.  Our friends.  Our family.  When someone you care about reaches the end of their life a hospice is a place you can be sure they will be cared for with respect and allowed to die with dignity.

For the record I am an atheist, not a Catholic. However irresepective of personal belief I believe that St Raphael's makes a valuable contribution to Merton and Sutton's communities.
