Hello,
Ta for visiting my fundraising page.
I know I said the last walk was my last one and I should know better at 53 but I enjoy doing them and they’re for a good cause so here I am again trying to get a few quid off you all.
I plan on doing the Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk from St.Bees on the Irish Sea across the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors and finish at Robin Hoods Bay on the North Sea coast. It's a total of 192 miles(plus the bits walking to campsites)and will take me 14 days.
I start on the 10th May and finish on the 23rd May,kipping in my tent for 11 of the nights, one night in a hostel and a night at my brothers house. Could be a soggy few days and nights. I’m not carrying all my gear as my knees are knackered and won’t handle the weight on the hills,so I’m using a bag transfer company (Sherpavan)to shift my big rucksack and I’m getting on a bit.
I'm doing it for the RAF Benevolent Fund as I was in the RAF for 12 years when I was a nipper and made me who I am and made some mates for life.So if you have a spare couple of quid then chuck it in the pot please or just tell your mates to chuck 50p in the pot.
Well everything is sorted now and training is going well so it’s 5 weeks till I’m off and can’t wait.
Here's my route.
Day One.- St.Bees to Ennerdale Bridge. 14 miles.
Day Two.- Ennerdale Bridge to Barrowdale. 15 miles.
Day Three.- Barrowdale to Grasmere. 9 miles.
Day Four.- Grasmere to Patterdale. 8.5 miles.
Day Five.- Patterdale to Shap. 15.5 miles.
Day Six.- Shap to Kirkby Stephen. 20.5 miles.
Day Seven.- Kirkby Stephen to Keld. 13 miles.
Day Eight.- Keld to Reeth. 11 miles.
Day Nine.- Reeth to Richmond. 10.5 miles.
Day Ten.- Richmond to Danby Wiske. 14 miles.

Day Twelve.- Osmotherly to Blakey Ridge. 20 miles.
Day Thirteen.- Blakey Ridge to Littlebeck 17.5miles.
Day Fourteen.- Littlebeck to Robin Hood's Bay. 12 miles and then a beer or three.
Total 192 miles ish.
Thanks for looking in and I'll update the page later once everything is in place and arranged.
Cheers,
Brummie.
