LE TOUR - ONE DAY AHEAD 2015 · 3 July 2015

With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses at UK blood cancer centres, giving patients access to treatments through clinical trials. This support drives global significant advancements in blood cancer, impacting those affected by the disease.

Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.  This is the important part and where you can fund new treatments that will help to beat blood cancers.

I have committed to ride the complete Tour de France one day ahead of the pro’s as part of a team of 11 who, with former England footballer Geoff Thomas aim to raise £1m for Cure Leukaemia.  I am no stranger to charity events but this is a big one and a major commitment for me.

I have taken 3 weeks off work and paid all the costs so that any funds that you donate will go to Cure Leukaemia to pay for specialist Cancer Nurses.  With these specialists in place the major pharmaceutical companies will provide ground breaking new drugs to trial on very sick patients where conventional therapies have failed.  If we raise our £1m target this will convert into £10m representing the value of the drugs given by the pharmaceutical companies for trial on patients.
Where else can you get a 10x return on your investment?

These ground breaking new therapies are already achieving remarkable results and the charity is confident that within 30 years they can beat blood cancer.
