Story
Jake Ellis was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma and sadly lost his battle in 2008, aged 5. Since losing their son, Jo-ann and Nick have been tirelessly fundraising in memory of Jake, raising over £250,000 and counting to support research into rhabdomyosarcoma
Team Jake has undertaken a huge number of fundraising events, including the annual Jake Ellis Charity Ball, London to Paris Cycle Challenge (successfully completed in just 3 days!), the Great North Run, charity Golf day and the Keswick to Barrow walk, to name but a few. The 2018 Keswick to Barrow walk (38 miles) and Coniston to Barrow walk (21 miles) had an incredible 110 Team Jake walkers! Jo-ann and her sister, Nicola have also run and completed the prestigious London Marathon in 2014, raising over £6,000!
Team Jake also enjoys huge support from the local community, with many local schools and businesses fundraising for the Jake Ellis Fund. My marathon journey is just a small step towards helping such a worthwhile cause.
Please help me to fund research into rhabdomyosarcoma so that other children don't have to go through what Jake did. I'm supporting Team Jake at CCLG because I want to help find a cure for rhabdomyosarcoma in Jake's memory.
