On Sunday 15 April I will be riding the 81 mile 'Epic' route in the New Forest Spring Sportive, a popular cycling event.  This will be a warm-up for my next cycling event, just two weeks later when I will be riding the 100 miles 'Epic' route of 'The Arrow' sportive in Lincolnshire.

I thought to myself that I should not be having so much fun so decided that I should use the events to raise money for Pharmacist Support, a charity that provides support to pharmacists, their families and to pharmacy students during times of need.

I have known of the work of the charity from the time when it was simply 'the benevolent fund', and in 2016 decided to step up my involvement by becoming a trustee.  In this position I see much more about the numbers of people the charity is able to help, and also the types of support that is needed.

The charity needs over a million pounds a year to provide the much needed support, and like many charities it relies to a great extent on legacies and on fund-raising.  

I will keep this page updated with my training for the two events, and will also post links to the sportive pages, where evidence of my finishing (and my finishing time) will be posted by the organisers.  If for any reason either of the events are cancelled, I will pick another challenging ride to complete, so that my kind sponsors can see that I am making an effort.
