Stephen's Sea Kayaking Challenge · 6 September 2019

The aim of the Project is to provide a service for persons aged 18+, seeking to recover from alcohol or drug related problems and to assist them to become confident, responsible and valued members of the local community. We offer an abstinence based Supported Accommodation service.

Story

Hebrides Alpha Project is the only residential supported accommodation in the Western Isles dedicated to supporting people in their recovery journey from the adverse effects of drug and alcohol misuse towards a life of abstinence.

There are very few families that have not experienced these difficulties and having struggled personally I believe Hebrides Alpha Project is an important resource here on the island.

I hope to raise funds by doing a solo Sea Kayak of 50 kilometer (31 mile). A route that takes in East, West and Little Loch Roag circumnavigating Great Bernera. Pictures of a couple of possible routes have been posted but the route could be changed according to weather conditions, but whatever the route it will be the same distance travelled and hopefully done in under 10 hrs.

This is my second season since starting Sea Kayaking and I have been increasing distance gradually but this will easily be my longest trip and biggest challenge.

I would be very grateful for your help in raising funds for this great charity.
