Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

Hi, my name is Steve Moore, and on April 30th this year, i donated a kidney to my brother.  I am taking part in the London to Paris cycle ride, with my friend Graham, to raise funds for Diabetes Uk. We will cycle about 234 miles in 3 days.

Diabetes has affected my family twice. My mum passed away due to the complications of type 2 diabetes, 4 years ago, and my brother has suffered with type 1 diabetes since the age of 7. He underwent a kidney and pancreas transplant 8 years ago, but unfortunately, his kidney failed, so, on the 30th April this year, i donated a kidney to my brother.

I am hoping to raise at least £1500 for this event.

Last year i cycled from Lands end to John o groats, and raised over £3500 for Diabetes uk.
