Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My reasons for doing the run are below but as you will have gathered by now I DID IT! It was a lovely day and Windsor Great Park a beautiful place to run. But its very hilly so even my Dorset training was put to the test. The main thing is we ran all the way and that was my goal. To run it with Hannah was special and we crossed the line hand in hand- I felt quite emotional I confess. The low point was a long, long hill at about mile 10 and it was then I particularly thought of all the support I had received and how I was running for you and for a great cause. The last part down the Fair Mile from the rider and horse statue on the hill to the finish was amazing as we ran it as fast as we could. Thank you to you all. I have achieved a great goal and done a great cause some good in the process.
As I was 60 this year I decided I ought to pretend I am still young by having a physical challenge in my life and I've chosen to run a half marathon. I have 2 very simple goals- to get to the start line in one piece and to RUN the whole way! I will have my daughter Hannah with me who is a marathon runner and I hope she won't slow me down (joke!).Either way I'll get a PB! I have decided to run for a charity and have chosen Alzheimer's Care. Alzheimers is a disease that touches, or will touch, so many of our lives and yet doesn't enjoy anything like the financial support it needs to tackle a problem of epidemic proportions so please do give as generously as you can.
