Story

Dear All,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am excited and proud to be running in "Eiger Ultra Trail" while raising funds for British Red Cross.  Running the "Eiger Ultra Trail" has been my personal goal and I have been a British Red Cross supporter for many years.  I want to use this opportunity to develop a deeper awareness of the work of British Red Cross amongst my family, friends and acquaintances. Together with your help we can make sure they are able to continue their vital work helping people in crisis; whoever and wherever they are.

I will be self-funding the trip and any donation will go directly to British Red Cross.  In addition, I have gear sponsorship supports from
Brooks, Compressport and Ultraspire for this event.  Brooks is providing me with the best trailrunning shoes for running along the technical trails, the flexible and lightweight Brooks Caldera trailrunning shoes.  While Compressport will provide me with sports compression shorts and calf guards for enhancing my blood circulation and performance.  In addition, Ultraspire will provide me with a bag and bottles designed specifically for runners' needs and for storing all the mandatory gears.

Just by donating your support could help save lives here in the UK and across the globe. Just like the British Red Cross did in the Philippines after the devastating Typhoon Haiyan or after the flooding which hit many areas of the UK in early 2014 and as they continue to do in the tragic and on-going conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Gaza and South Sudan. Not forgetting their important work in dealing with the growing Ebola crisis in West Africa and helping ease the increasing demands faced by the A & E departments here in the UK.

The list below gives you an idea of how your sponsorship can save lives:

£5 can provide clean drinking water for 4 people

£10 could allow British Red Cross to provide basic
food/essentials to a destitute asylum seeker for one week

£20 could buy a first aid kit for Emergency Response teams to use in the UK

£45 could provide the tools for a mechanic to maintain community wells in Afghanistan

£150 could help provide the means for 11 families to grow their own nutritious crops and ensure a healthy diet in a country like Lesotho

£500 could provide food, drinks and refreshments for around 100 vulnerable people displaced following an emergency such as flooding, power outage etc.

Thank you for supporting me as I take on this challenge!

Just Giving is a safe and efficient way to donate. Sponsorship will be efficiently processed and passed directly to our partner charities to ensure that your money begins making an impact right away. Please don't forget to check the Gift Aid box and make your donation go even further.
