Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Beware of too much time on your hands!

I was sitting on the bus going home to New Brighton last year when I happened to glance at my day saver ticket and saw it bore the legend " North-West and Wales Area". How far could I get on this if I really tried? I looked on the computer and saw it covered an area stretching to Bolton in the North, Macclesfield in the East and as far down as Aberystwyth and Welshpool in the South. I discovered I could buy a weekly version for the princely sum of £16 and an idea was born. I would embark on a trip all over the North-West that would provide material for an off-beat travel book and enable me to raise money for organizations which had been instrumental in my recovery.

I contacted Arriva North-West and they were both excited and keen to help me achieve my goals-- and even nominated a charity of their own that would benefit from the venture.They agreed to finance the cost of the ticket as well as complimentary travel for research purposes.

I will be setting off on Friday 27th May from the top of my road in Wallasey for a week's "Busman's Holiday" that will last till the 2nd June. Seven charities will be benefitting. These are;

Arch Initiatives, Independence Initiatives, The Spider Group, Wirral CVS, Advocacy In Wirral, Charles Thompson's Mission and Zoe's Place (Nominated by Arriva NW).

Any monies donated will be divided equally between the seven charities and this will be administered by Wirral CVS. I intend to keep a blog during the journey so that potential donors can keep up to date with my progress.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
