Headway Somerset is a unique organisation helping people to live as independent a life as possible after brain injury, providing specialist support and therapy at its 3 Brain Injury Outreach Units. It provides essential respite care for family members who may end up being full-time unpaid carers.

Story

My target is £1300 so I can run 26 miles knowing that I'm raising £50 per mile. I started running because Headway asked me if I wanted to run the London Marathon in April 2011. They asked me just before Christmas so I had 4 months to train. I did it, not in any particular style but I got round. The pain I suffered is nothing compared to the pain suffered by those being treated by Headway so I have continued to do my bit by putting myself through all the pain to help others. I've now run marathons in London, Chester 2 years running and Brighton so this will be my 5th Marathon for Headway. If you share my view that Headway is such a great charity and you would like to contribute to their fundraising, please do pledge what you can to help me reach my target of £1,000. Thank you.
