Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
What I did...
I finished 377th out of 34000+ in a time of 2:47:27. This was just over 2 minutes slower than my target time, but still over 11 minutes quicker than my previous best.
I was on target to run 2:42 until the last 10km when I developed a painful stitch, which got so bad I was forced to walk for a small time in the last couple of miles. Up until the 25th mile I was still on target to beat 2:45 before stopping to walk.
Many thanks to you all for the support, you’ve helped raise over £600 (plus Gift Aid) for the British Heart Foundation. This is very much appreciated
Why...
To raise funds for the British Heart Foundation:
* Every two minutes, someone in in the UK has a heart attack.
* Every two hours a baby is born with a heart defect
* Seven times as many women die of heart disease than breast cancer
How your money will help...
£25 could pay for books to help schoolchildren understand the most common heart problems and teach them how to look after their own hearts.
£50 could help the BHF's Heart Information Line answer 1,600 calls a month from heart patients and their families
£100 could go towards helping Heart Support Groups to set up and help people who suffer from heart disease in their local communities
£250 could help fund a specialist BHF Nurse to look after someone who is recovering after a heart operation in his or her home.
How you can donate...
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
