In 2014 my wife and I lost a baby at 23 weeks. We are very privileged to have three other children but we will never forget Trey. I remember I felt shock, anger and pain when Trey died but we received great support. Many of my friends and family have suffered similar losses. In 2018, 1 in 150 babies in the UK died before they were born or shortly afterwards and this is a trend that seems to be stuck.

Sands was set up over 40 years ago by a group of parents who had lost babies. Sands works to reduce the number of babies dying and to improve care and support for anyone affected by the death of a baby.
