The Stephen Hughes Foundation is very close to Esref's heart. It has been set up by friends and family in memory of Stephen who passed away in October 2014, just nine days short of his 24th birthday, after a six month battle with Giant Cell Myocarditis. The Charity's core purpose is to fund research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, and also to provide opportunities to groups of children aged 5-11 via Sports & Music Development Grants.
