RCN 803016 (England & Wales) SC037790 (Scotland)
In the 30 years since Meningitis Now was founded, we have funded research, provided support & worked to raise the public's awareness of the disease. Our vision is a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.

Story

Benjamin Rosati was born on the 20 Feb 2011, the third son of our friends Ron & Jen.

He was born 2 weeks after our third daughter Ruby.  His two older brothers, Luke and Jerry, are the same age as our daughters, Orla-May and Dorothy and they have all been friends since birth. When Ron and Jen announced they were pregnant, we were naturally excited that Ruby would have her own Rosati boy.

Ben was a healthy baby until 6 April 2011 when he got a fever and the doctors diagnosed him with viral spinal meningitis.  He was immediately admitted to the ward at St. Georges and monitored continually.  Ron and Jen stood by his bed side the entire time and he was so wonderful.  However, unknown to anybody the virus had escaped his spinal fluid, got into his blood stream and into his heart.  He died shockingly on 9 April 2011.

In Ron's own words:

"Our family has since been destroyed and we are doing everything we can to keep our world together through our faith and friends.  We want to help make sure others don’t have to experience any tragedy such as this.  Please help us by supporting this race and our cause."

A group of Ron & Jen's friends will be running the 10k with pcitures of Ben on our chests as a small act of rememberance.

We believe he is safe with Christ in heaven as the scriptures teach..
