Story
Stephen and Tara have two causes close to their hearts and we would love our nearest and dearest friends to help us support them by donating to either or both of these causes instead of buying us a wedding gift.
In alphabetic order, these charities are the Babes Project and the Shake It Up Foundation.
The Babes Project is a not for profit organisation which was founded in 2009 by Helen Parker. Helen experienced her own crisis pregnancy and then proceeded to spend many years journeying with women facing crisis pregnancy and observed how vital consistent practical and emotional support is to women as they decide how to face their pregnancy and to then make great choices long term.
The Babes Project is rewriting the motherhood experience for women facing crisis pregnancy; The Babes Project establishes pregnancy support services and accommodation for women and children in the perinatal period, throughout Victoria.
The Babes Project believes that all women should have access to the information, support and understanding needed to make great decisions regarding the life of her and her child. You can find out more about the Babe's Project at www.thebabesproject.com.au
The Shake It Up Foundation's mission is clear; to find the cure for Parkinson’s disease.
The Foundation’s vision is also straight forward and fits into two broad categories:
- To inspire fellow Australians to join the fight
against Parkinson’s disease and thereby generating much needed funding to
ensure Australian researchers have the necessary resources to undertake world’s
best research.
- To create funding opportunities for the Parkinson’s
research community in Australia and to facilitate collaboration within this and
the global research community to accelerate the path to a cure.
