I have chosen to run the half marathon for a charity very close to me, The Maypole Project. They are a local charity who support children with complex medical needs and their families across South East London. As a small charity, your support will have a huge impact and the funds raised will make life-changing difference to so many families.

I have volunteered with the Maypole Project for over 6 years. Over the years I have been a part of day outings, after school clubs and a range of other activities. These activities are designed to bring children and young people together to create peer support, make friends and importantly allow parents/carers to take a well-deserved break.  Our activities and outings are for children and young people with complex medical needs, SEN or disability, as well as their siblings.

It costs the Maypole Project £750 to support a child with complex medical needs and their family for one year, so your support will make a significant contribution to the work we can provide. Our aim is to provide a service with the qualities that families have told us they need: understanding, confidential, professional, empowering, easy to access, flexible and on-going support.
