On the 25th October I ran 10 miles around Portsmouth for The Great South Run. It was my first ever run and six months before I couldn't even run half a mile! To make it all a little easier to take, I decided to run and raise money for The Meningitis Trust. 

My daughter Lucy suffered from group B steptococcus meningitis when she was only 3 weeks old. 1 in 8 babies that suffer group B strep die and a third of the survivors suffer long term health problems such as speech, hearing, vision or lung problems. Fortunately we got Lucy to Southampton General hospital early and she was tested, treated with antibiotics and we have a gorgeous, healthy 2 year old baby girl. 

As you can see from the total donated so far I have some amazing friends and family and I am staggered with the amount raised. There's always room for more though, so feel free to add your own donation.
