Raid Local 2021: Ventoux! · 27 June 2021 ·

Following the immense success of our 2020 Raid Local, this year the event is coming to a road near you on 27th June!

Story

I am taking on this years "Raid Local" cycling challenge on Sunday 27th June. The challenge this year is simple: to get in the saddle and take to familiar roads in the Cotswolds to cover a route inspired by Mont Ventoux (the ‘Giant of Provence’ and a mountain often used in the Tour de France). I will be riding the equivalent of the infamous Club des Cinglés Challenge (the 3 roads up Mont Ventoux) with at least 4,443m of vertical ascent and a distance of at least 136.6km.

I will be riding a 6km circuit including 23 ascents of Saintbury Hill near Broadway all to raise money for this fantastic charity. I am inspired to take on this challenge by my father in law Stuart. He has suffered from Parkinson's for several years & it is so sad to see the impact it has had on his life.

The funds raised from Raid Local will go towards Cure Parkinson’s pioneering and vital research into a cure for Parkinson’s so please donate.
