Invest in ME Research has, as its objective, to change how myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) is perceived, treated and researched. We do this by raising funding for biomedical research and improving education about the disease. We are currently facilittaing high-quality biomedical research in UK/Europe

Story

Our son was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) in 2012 just before his 13th birthday.  It is a debilitating illness which not only affects your immediate health but also impacts education, social life and any sort of physical activity.  It has had a life changing effect on his teenage years and on those of us around him.

ME is a condition that affects around 250,000 people in the UK of which 25% are children.  To date there is no known specific medical diagnostic test to determine or confirm a correct diagnosis nor is there any specific treatment for this condition.  Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity facilitating and funding research into ME to better understand this disease and hopefully allow treatments and cures to be found. You can find more information at www.investinme.org.

If you would like to help me in my fundraising activities please make a donation via this page or alternatively donate by text by sending code SBRP88 plus your amount £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.
For example SBRP88 £5

Many thanks for your support.

Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity finding, funding and facilitating a strategy of biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME or ME/CFS). The charity is run by volunteers - patients or parents of children with ME - with no paid staff. Overheads are kept to a minimum and all funds raised to go to promoting education of, and funding for biomedical research into, ME. The charity is focused on setting up a UK Centre of Excellence for ME which will provide proper examinations, diagnosis and in time treatment(s)/cure(s).
