Story
This is my everest.
On August 7, I will play 100 holes of golf at Sandburn Hall GC to raise money for Bloodwise.
I'm captain at the York club and Bloodwise, formerly known as Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, is my charity for the year.
My mother is currently in remission from an aggressive form of Leukaemia and I want to raise as much money as I can for the charity before my year ends in April 2018.
This isn't a marathon, and it's not scaling a mountain, but - trust me - it's going to hurt.
I'll be walking upwards of 35 miles. My legs are going to ache and my feet are going to blister. I'm going to be racing the sun as I try to get round our 6,723-yard course five and a half times before it sets.
I'm probably going to hit around 500 shots.
I've never played more than 36 holes in one go in my life. Now I'm going to try and nearly treble that.
I could really do with your help. Your donations will serve as motivation - when I wonder what on earth I'm doing it for and when, on the day, I'm trying to resist the urge to jack it all in.
Anything you can give will be much appreciated. I'll keep you posted with my progress as the day gets closer.
