Each year Friends of the Cancer Centre funds life saving and life changing projects which make a real and positive difference to thousands of cancer patients and their families. The charity relies on donations from the public to be able to support these patients locally and across Northern Ireland.

Story

Welcome to Foireann Harry's page and Thank You for taking the time to visit.

On October 9th, 2011, I will be running the Westchester County Half Marathon.  I am running for my father-in-law, Harry Thompson.

In August 2010, Harry was diagnosed with stage III lung cancer.  He received a full round of chemotherapy reducing the tumors by 25%.  Recently, the cancer has advanced to stage IV and treatment is increasing again.  In the past year, Harry has received wonderful care from amazing people at The Belfast City Hospital Cancer Centre.   All your generosity will be going towards an organization called Friends of the Cancer Centre, where they can continue to support and treat people just like Harry.

I'm running this race for Harry.  Not because he has cancer, but rather because he has life.  I didn't choose the Cancer Centre because it provides direct care for Harry.  I chose it because Harry knows there are people in his city that need care more than him.  Even facing illness, Harry always thinks of others first.

Please join me in supporting Harry and a great organization that works hard to make life better for those suffering from cancer.

With Love,

Steve
