Had a fantastic run and finished in 56:04 - faster than expected but the conditions were ideal for running and I surprised myself.
I couldn't keep up with an elephant man, but did manage to overtake a banana on Penistone Road.
Thanks again to everyone that has donated to Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. It looks like the total with Gift Aid will be over £300 - and there's still time to donate as this page will stay open for a few more weeks.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I'm running in my first race, the BUPA Great Yorkshire Run, in Sheffield on 6 September. It’s a 10k race and quite a challenge for a couch potato like me. To give me an incentive to put in those miles and miles of training I’ve decided to raise funds for the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. Weston Park is one of only three hospitals in the country dedicated exclusively to cancer treatment and is a world leader in cancer research. The Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity supports the hospital by raising vital funds to support research and improve treatments and care for people living with cancer. You can read more about the charity here: http://tinyurl.com/kufn2rI started running in March 2009 to improve my general health, so have around six months to turn from couch potato into a lean, mean running machine! With your support and encouragement I’m hoping to be in reasonable shape and finish the 10k (6.22 miles) in 60-70 minutes.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
